We Are Sikhs Statement on Recent California Shootings
Two Sikh men lost their lives to senseless acts of violence yesterday. Subag Singh’s body was found with visible signs of trauma, and Simranjit Singh was gunned down in the parking lot where he worked. While our campaign is not designed to change the mind of a person who would take the life of another, these despicable acts are yet another reminder of why the National Sikh Campaign and similar efforts are so important. While these incidents are investigated, we will continue to work tirelessly to teach our neighbors about who Sikhs are, what our turbans represent and the American values we hold so dear.
